Florida Minimum Wage
The minimum wage rate for Florida differs from the federal minimum wage rate. The new Florida minimum wage rate beginning January 1, 2020 is $8.56 per hour. The rate for tipped workers is $5.54 per hour. Keep in mind that tipped employees must earn, including tips, at least the regular non-tipped employee minimum wage rate. If collected tips does not bring their hourly rate up to the $8.56 per hour rate, the employer must make up the difference.
