Florida Minimum Wage

The minimum wage rate for Florida differs from the federal minimum wage rate.  The new Florida minimum wage rate beginning January 1, 2018 is $8.25 per hour.  The rate for tipped workers is $5.23 per hour.  Keep in mind that tipped employees must earn, including tips, at least the regular non-tipped employee minimum wage rate.  If collected tips does not bring their hourly rate up to the $8.25 per hour rate, the employer must make up the difference.
